Hello delicious Strawberries ‘N Cream smoothie bowl!  Lately I’ve been reminiscing about childhood memories.  When I was younger my mom would buy my brother and I strawberry vanilla milkshakes as a special treat. Over the years I’ve lost my taste for milkshake and have developed a love for smoothies. Today I thought I use my childhood treat as inspiration for a healthy breakfast.  So what’s great about this smoothie bowl? It’s only 5 ingredients and takes 10 minutes.  Plus you can add lots of yummy toppings. My favorite toppings for this recipe are granola (for a crunch), blueberries, sliced strawberries, chia sees, pumpkin seeds and shredded coconut.  For a more filling breakfast, you can also had a scoop of protein mix.

 To get your started, here are 3 steps to help your best smoothie bowl ever:

  1. Frozen fruit helps make it thicker.Frozen fruit will make your smoothie bowls have a thicker and creamy consistency. I would also recommend starting off with as little liquid (almond milk) as possible so that you don’t make soup instead of a smoothie. Add more liquid as you blend and pour in more as needed.
  2. Prep before blending. To save time, prep all your ingredients the night before or gather them before you start adding ingredients to the blender. You might also consider gathering the toppings beforehand as well.
  3. Pre-chill your bowl. Smoothie bowls can melt pretty quickly so try popping your bowl in the freezer beforehand or while your gathering the ingredients.
